I’m a self-taught cook who found her way into cooking as a full time career and never looked back. I love creating delicious, accessible recipes using ingredients from across the world. I grew up in Hawaii, and have lived in Shanghai for 7 years, as well as frequently spending time Japan thanks to my parents living in Osaka. These diverse cultures and their cuisines are some of my favorite inspiration to draw from when I’m creating new dishes. My goal is to always respect the origins of the techniques and ingredients I use in my recipes – for me, knowing exactly where the elements of my recipes come from is of utmost importance, so that I can educate as well as innovate, instead of white washing.
